This building, part of a former Georgia State Hospital campus, had some of the most beautiful diffused light I have ever seen.

Inside the dreams
created with you
were pastel sunsets
and crimson waves
of passion and desire
then tainted by your words
which now have stained my skies grey.
Photo: "The Halls"
Empty, abandoned asylums speak loudly, louder that most believe. There are stories within these walls; some tragic, some hopeful. I can only hope my images tell those stories.

Sadly much of the morgue at this state hospital had been destroyed, but the morgue drawers and doors still remain.
Photo: "The Distance"
I wish architecture was still designed with the same attention to detail and ornamentation as it was back in the early 1900's.

This medical building, part of a once active and very busy Georgia State Hospital, opened in 1929 and operated for fifty years before shutting down in 1979.
Photo: "Nurses Station"
The decay that devoured this nurses station in a Georgia State Hospital was fairly extensive compared to other sections of the building. The collapsed roof in the top right corner gives me an indication that there is a water leak just above this station, causing the wood to swell and buckle.

This power plant once powered a Rayon Factory in Alabama. Now abandoned, this power plant sits on land near new active and thriving businesses and a empty lot where the factory once stood.

Construction on this building. the only hospital in the county, was completed just before 1930 and remained in operation for nearly 50 years. It contained a clinical lab, x-ray department and morgue.
